Drawing with our Mount cutter

is not just a case of putting a picture into the mount cutter and it will draw or cut it, there's is a lot of work designing and drawing what you want to cut  before you can do either in a totally different way to drawing with pen and paper but once you have done the hard work you can cut and draw it almost any size that you like and as many times as you like

FRAMING CARDIFF DEVILS SHIRT ONTO A TORSO

first we needed to design a background that has to be printed onto the mount board

so we started with a picture from in side the ice rink and cleaned it up a bit to suit our project

 

this is the picture with all the action at the far end of the rink

we then added one player that we took from another picture although the colours of the player do not match the colours that were in the picture,it didn't matter as we are going to colour it all when assembled

we needed to keep the action around the edges as the shirt was going into the middle

we searched for there logo and added that to the top right of the

picture knowing that we could position them where we liked at a later stage

   

 then the word Cardiff was coloured to match the colours in the picture

adding another player to the bottom left of the picture

and another player attacking the goals

then we altered the colours to suit the colours in the jersey

colours changed

Then it was ready to use sizing it all to fit together we ended up with the framed shirt shown below

STAR TREK

I Was asked if i could frame up a picture [below] of the old star trek cast, and weather i could do something different like use picture mounts so this is the outcome

i started with an image from outer space  for the background and altered it to suit my needs

then I added a part of a picture of planet earth, taken from a distance to the top right corner of the background

Next i needed a picture of where we would be stood looking up at the star ship enterprise so i added some planets to the bottom of the background image

its time to add the copyright otherwise someone will start printing this off

 all these images are available to purchase online for a small fee

Now I needed the star ship enterprise from the right sort of angle so i had to spin it and shape it to get it right

This I then printed onto the mount board, ready to cut out

the aperture to insert the picture this was cut out by a computerized mount cutter

Then it was framed in a black acrylic moulding and this is the final result 16" x 12" inches
